Terms of service
Plain English, and short. If something here doesn't match what you've been told, tell us and we'll fix one or the other.
What the service is
RateWyn gives your shop a QR code that opens a feedback page for your customers, a dashboard showing what happened, and email alerts when someone sends you a private message. It is provided as-is, and we improve it over time.
What it costs
Nothing, for now. RateWyn is in a pilot and early shops use it free while it finds its feet. There is no card on file, no contract and no minimum term.
It will not stay free. When we start charging you will get clear notice beforehand and the choice to continue or stop — and nothing will ever be charged without you agreeing to it first. Stopping costs nothing and you keep your data.
Who you are dealing with
RateWyn is run by an individual, not a company. That means your agreement is with a person, and it is worth knowing that rather than assuming there is an organisation behind it. You can reach that person at the address at the bottom of this page, and they answer their own email.
What we cannot promise
We cannot promise you any number of Google reviews. We put your review link in front of customers who have just visited. Whether they write anything is entirely up to them, and Google gives nobody a way to confirm that a particular person published a review.
For the same reason, your dashboard reports how many people tapped the review link, not how many reviews appeared. Anyone quoting you a precise count of reviews their tool generated is estimating.
Playing by Google's rules
Every customer is shown the same review link regardless of what they tapped. We will not build review gating — filtering unhappy customers away from Google — because Google prohibits it and shops caught doing it can lose their reviews.
You agree not to offer customers payment, discounts or free items in exchange for reviews, which is also against Google's policies and puts your listing at risk. We may end the service if you do.
Your data
Your shop's feedback and figures belong to you. Ask and we will export them or delete them. What we collect from your customers, and why, is described in the privacy policy.
Interruptions
We aim to keep it running, but this is software on the internet: it can go down. We don't offer a guaranteed uptime figure at this stage, and we're not liable for lost business while it's unavailable. If there is an outage that costs you a meaningful stretch of service, get in touch and we'll sort out the bill.
Ending it
Stop whenever you like — tell us and we will switch your page off. We may end the service with 30 days' notice, or immediately if it's being used in a way that puts your Google listing or ours at risk. Either way, take your data with you.
